IN EVERY SENSE
A Decade for the Body 2010–2020
Exhibition
Fifteen years of creating spaces and sharing movement
In 2025, I marked 15 years as a creator of projects centred on the body and movement. For the first time, I had to put my work on hold to undergo extensive treatment for breast cancer. During my recovery, I felt a strong need to revisit the exhibition that commemorated my first ten years as a teacher and creator of projects focused on diverse communities.
In Every Sense: A Decade Dedicated to the Body 2010–2020 was curated by Fer Roble, a Brazilian artist and audiovisual filmmaker based in Spain. Her work combines imagery, writing and other artistic explorations, with a particular focus on dance, women and documentary narratives linked to social issues and health. Some of her texts, photographs and videos form part of this exhibition.
Here you will find a small selection of the visual archive I have built up since 2010, when I began teaching at the Entredós Foundation and the Terapia de Reencuentro Foundation, up until 2020, when we had to interact with the world from home – including through dance.
*Sixth Sense*, which brings the exhibition to a close, brings together moments from the sessions held by the online school.
My main motivation as a teacher has been to bring bodywork and movement research to spaces and communities that had not previously had any contact with these practices. I wanted to share knowledge, experiences and questions with a wide range of people, many of whom were excluded from access to this sort of session on grounds of class, background
or gender.
Creating spaces for physical expression outside dance schools has been the driving force behind a mission that I have pursued – and continue to pursue – with great faith and
passion. I carry in my memory fragments of marvellous dances, performed by real people whose stage is life itself. These memories are a true treasure to me.
My journey as a teacher of body and movement began with a folder under my arm and a long list of institutions, associations and regional ministries to contact.
I knocked on far more doors than were opened to me, and I took my sessions to venues and neighbourhoods where, in Madrid in 2010, contemporary dance had barely made an impact in community settings.
I forged my own path and received support from women who have played a key role in my career — you know who you are; my muito obrigada to you all, always. Various
organisations and institutions also placed their trust in my vision and enabled me to continue developing it. Thousands of participants have taken part in my projects, and I have worked with more than 40 organisations both in and outside Spain.
Today, the revised edition of *In all senses* brings one chapter to a close and opens up new possibilities. I hope that a new collection of records of everything experienced from October 2020 onwards will emerge.
I hope there will be many more collections to come and that I’ll be lucky enough to be there for all your celebrations.
Being alive is my greatest gift.
Marina Santo, October 2026.

Exhibition
In Every Sense: A Decade for the Body 2010–2020
The exhibition you are about to see aims to awaken the body’s senses and guide them towards the past, so that we may reflect on what we have already felt. A past that serves as a means of contemplating the present, and a perspective that strengthens us in the here and now.
Here, the senses blend together, the elements unite, and the body becomes nature in its entirety.
An ecosystem that is perfected with every new back-and-forth movement brought about by the passing days. And so, in complete unity, it is no longer possible to tell whether sight comes from the eyes or the ears, whether touch enters through the retinas, whether taste enters through the nose, whether what is heard comes from the skin and what is smeltled is not actually perceived in the mouth.
Could you say right now which of your senses this text is appealing to? What has made you feel your feet firmly planted on the ground at this very moment? How do you hear the sounds around you?
The senses and feelings are everywhere. They exist on both a micro and macro scale. They are a blend of what we experience first-hand and what our ancestors experienced, intertwining the past, present and future.
Tune into your feelings and enjoy this journey.
Fer Roble and Marina Santo, October 2020.
Exhibition
Touch (Earth)
Do we need to touch another person to feel them? Some glances touch us; the wind can embrace us; there are objects that welcome us and ears that kiss us. At times, with our eyes closed, we touch ourselves from within: our 2 organs, our blood, the beating of our heart. Touch expands, transcends the boundaries of the body, and encompasses everything.

Exhibition
Smell (Air)
Air enters the body through the pores, through the veins, through the feet, through our outstretched arms; it embraces us. And with it come the scents: the sweat of bodies, the fragrance of skin, as well as colours, calm and energy. Our sense of smell broadens the scope of our perception.

Exhibition
View (Water)
My eyes are closed, yet I see more than ever. I touch and see every contour of your skin. I smell and know what clothes you’re wearing. I listen and see the smiles forming on your lips. It tastes of honey and I know your arms are open. I see every part in its entirety and bring it all together; it is whole: what moves and what stands still to look. The vision is fluid.

Exhibition
Ear (Ether)
In the midst of movement, he stops, and suddenly, he understands. He listens. How can one communicate without perceiving? The sound that enters our bodies as well as our souls is invisible matter; it is a frequency that is diffused and constantly reinterpreted in the air. To understand the changes, one must keep going, and even more so, stop. Because hearing is the origin.

Exhibition
Taste (Fire)
Your skin tastes of home. I touch you and feed on my own essence. I find myself in you and see that you, too, are in me. Having you close to me tastes of summer. A fire runs up my spine when I have myself, here, with me. Suddenly, entirely with myself. And so, too, entirely with you.

Exhibition
Sixth Sense (Metamorphosis)
The photos are a collection of some of the work done by the students during the online classes held throughout 2020. In the silence of those days, I listened to my senses and discovered a voice that guided me. I understood that we could dance, create, and be together; we were born and will continue to be reborn.
